What is Angular Chelitis?

Angular chelitis also known as perleche, is a fungal bacterial infection that starts at the corners of the mouth and in severe cases can slowly move it's way down the throat or across the face. There are many reasons how cheilitis can develop but mostly it is due to a lack of proper vitamins such as vitamin c.

One of the main causes of chelitis can be from being exposed to cold weather with out proper protection on the lips which in turn leads to a cracking of the lips and if left untreated the corners of the mouth will become infected very quickly with a fungal bacteria which is angular chelitis.

If you are afflicted with perleche it can be very hard to treat, however it can be treated, take for example this story of a woman who suffered for 10 years with chelitis before she finally conquered it Angular Chelitis Review.
